About the event
Calling all locals who would enjoy a creative building project!
Many children enjoy an adventure in nature most when some guaranteed magic awaits! The Arundel Conservation Trust is in the exciting process of creating a magical Stump Fairy House Adventure along the Arundel Community Trail. The stump houses will become permanent year round and visitors will be encouraged to gather additional supplies in the nearby forest to add to the fairy house sites.
Be part of the creating this first ACT Fairy House Village. People of all ages are invited to create fairy houses at home and participate on May 20 and 27th to place them in the ACT preserve behind Arundel Town Hall.
Please RSVP here or at the Google Link to join us in May or email Sandy.a.nadeau@gmail.com for more information about how you can help make some magic for our local children by building a fairy house or donating leftover scraps of cedar shakes, metal roof, small pieces of molding, small flat rocks, or small cans of bright colored paint so others might be able to build.
The fairies have been very hard at work building their fairy houses for you to visit. They are so proud and are trusting you to not hurt their homes, move them to a different spot or take their things home with you!
It’s really important that you leave their Fairy Houses just the way you find them!
Forage in the Nearby Forest
You are the fairies’ best friends and they need your help not only protecting their houses but also helping them decorate their yards. The fairies have asked us to please only collect things that are not alive and are no bigger than your thumb. They are hoping you can collect things like little stones to build walks, walls and fire pits, sticks to build tables and shelters for their animals, bark for roofs, pine cones for pretend trees, pine needles for their tiny animal beds, acorn tops for seats, and leaves for outdoor fairy beds. They’ll be so excited to see your hard work!
IF YOU COULD DRAW OR PAINT A PICTURE- OR WRITE A STORY ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE FAIRY HOUSE ADVENTURE-OR WRITE A NOTE TOTHE FAIRIES AND SHARE IT WITH THE ARUNDEL CONSERVATION TRUST AT INFO@ARUNDELTRUST.ORG THEY WILL BE SURE TO SHARE IT WITH THE FAIRIES!
