Public Relations Team:
This fun group keeps us in the public’s eye. Are you creative? Do you enjoy writing or do you love to use social media? Are you a wiz on Canva? This committee publishes our newsletter, runs our Facebook and Instagram pages as well as our website. They help promote all our events, write press releases, and design our brochures and other print material. We are in particular need for some folks to help our Web-Mistress with our Facebook, Instagram and other social media campaigns and help build out and maintain our website.

Trail Building (aka Trailblazers) Team:
Would you like to design, build & maintain ACT's walking & mountain bike trails? Help explore and develop the best uses for our land? Do you like working with volunteers? Like to be outside, introducing nature to others in our community? This committee could be for you! It establishes our land management priorities, works with potential new landholdings and soon hope to begin nature education programs. We are always looking for folks who love our local woods and streams. Join our gang of construction workers, youths of all ages, educators, naturalists, ecologists, and folks who just like to work outside, maybe getting tired & sometimes dirty, building trails, bridges, picnic areas, and great experiences!

Volunteer of the Year
Bruce Read
Bruce has been providing his legal services to us at no cost as contributing to our conservation efforts and community. He has spent many hours drafting deeds and easements, reviewing deeds, advising us, introducing us to surveyors and acting as a ready resource. Bruce comes to his commitment to conservation honestly. He is a fly fisherman, upland bird hunter, and hiker who understands the need for wild spaces and the healing power of nature. He has been practicing law in Maine for almost 42 years.
Above & Beyond
Carmen Lessard
Full of smiles, energy and ideas, Carmen has worked with us as our Festivities Coordinator at Trail Fest for several years, while also working with up to build relationships with our sponsors. Trail Fest is our primary fund raiser and Carmen has made a substantial time commitment. She is a Realtor with ReMax.

Above & Beyond
Sandy & Ed Nadeau
Sandy and Ed have been loyal workers and supporters since 2017. From helping with silent auctions at our early fundraisers, sponsoring and volunteering at Trail Fest to their latest gift to the community, the Fairy House Walk here on the yellow trail. They found, bought and created all the fairy houses, financing the entire project for the children of the community. Sandy herself could be mistaken or a feisty fairy of the forest as she would sit surrounded by children as she read a story before taking them on the trail.
Community Hero
Bill Huston
Bill is a two time winner of an award for volunteering for ACT, which speaks volumes about the contributions that he has made. As a member of the Trailblazer committee, there is rarely an event that we hold where Bill isn't present. Whether its raking trails, building bridges, cutting new trails, or hauling catwalks, Bill always shows up at the beginning and stays until the end. And, he is one of the kindest men you'll ever meet.
