About the event

What is Forest Bathing?

Forest Bathing, or Nature Therapy, is a practice that supports the health and wellness of people and the land they are on. Through an immersive process participants are encouraged to slow down and allow their senses to open, deepening the reciprocal relationship between participants and the forest. This process can support the wholeness and well-being of humans, the lands we inhabit, and other than human worlds.

On our walk, we will take a slow, physically gentle wander in the woods. Through a series of invitations, participants will be encouraged to interact with the land and its beings, in a way that feels appropriate (or intuitive) to themselves.

The walk can take 2-3 hours, depending on the size of our group.

Participants are encouraged to bring:

  • something to sit on (a pad, camp chair),
  • water, snacks (optional),
  • comfortable weather appropriate clothing,
  • insect and tick repellant.

Who am I?

Eric Blasco grew up on a farm in central New England, exploring and imagining in the woods. He has been a gardener, farmer, poet, builder, chef, facilitator and educator throughout his personal and professional life– connecting with the land in many different ways. For the last 8 years he has led and participated in 50+ workshops and gatherings dedicated to men's work and building positive, generative masculinity. Currently he is studying to be a certified counselor (LCPC) and is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide via the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. He leads participants on immersive, embodied walks in the woods to connect humans to themselves, and the other-than-human-worlds around us.
